Join Our Mission to Support Student Wellbeing at Riseholme College.

Are you a passionate, qualified counsellor with a desire to make a real difference in the lives of young people?

This part-time role (18 hours/week across 3–4 days during term time) offers a unique chance to work with a diverse student population, providing confidential, non-judgemental counselling to individuals under and over the age of 18. You’ll be part of a wider student support team committed to empowering learners with the emotional resilience and tools they need to succeed academically and personally.

We're seeking a registered and/or accredited professional (BACP, UKCP, or BPS) with post-qualification experience and specialist knowledge in trauma, pre-trial processes, and work with children and adolescents. You should have a minimum of two years’ experience and a strong understanding of the emotional, social, and developmental needs of young people.

This role goes beyond counselling sessions—it includes contributing to college wellbeing events, supporting drop-in sessions, liaising with safeguarding staff, and helping shape the future of the student support service.

If you are enthusiastic, self-motivated, and committed to making a difference in young lives, we’d love to hear from you.

Are you a passionate and experienced counsellor looking for a meaningful role where you can make a real impact on young people's lives? Bishop Burton College is seeking a dedicated Lead College Counsellor to join our supportive Student Services team.

In this vital role, you’ll be at the heart of our wellbeing provision, delivering confidential, student-centred counselling to learners across a diverse and dynamic college environment. You'll lead the counselling service at our main Bishop Burton campus while providing professional supervision to a part-time counsellor based at our Riseholme campus.

We’re looking for someone who is not only skilled in therapeutic practice but also proactive and organised, capable of managing their own caseload and contributing to the wider wellbeing strategy through crisis support, drop-in sessions, and workshops. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a collaborative, forward-thinking setting and is committed to improving the mental health and wellbeing of students from a range of backgrounds.

As a vital member of our college community, you will work closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead and other support services, ensuring students receive the care and signposting they need. You'll also contribute to service development by maintaining records, reporting on trends, and shaping future wellbeing initiatives.

Whether you're facilitating trauma-informed support, liaising with external agencies, or delivering impactful one-on-one sessions, your work will help shape the future of our students.

If you’re ready to step into a rewarding role where your expertise will be valued and your impact truly felt, we would love to hear from you.
